Sleeve Notes

The "Genesis EP" was so called because it was Mumdance and Logos' first release together and signalled the genesis of a new sound.

In Reverse PIV” is the VIP version of “In Reverse,” which originally featured on “Keysound Recordings Present…This Is How We Roll” compilation, which was released earlier in 2013. Both versions feature a back masked / reversed vocal message from Mumdance.

The original “In Reverse” was the first track Mumdance and Logos wrote together. It was released on Keysound's "This Is How We Roll" Compilation

“Turrican 2” is named after a computer game which was released on the Commodore Amiga 500, a personal computer system Mumdance owned when he was young, that he states as a big influence on his music.

Tracks named after Amiga games are a running theme in Mumdance’s discography, with “Golden Axe,” “Shadow Of The Beast,” “Chaos Engine,” “Amiga 500” and “Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge” being other examples. You can hear an extended interview where he talks about the influence of the Amiga 500 in the mix archive of this website: the 2016 “Mumdance - Diggin In The Carts” show with Nick Dwyer.

There are two versions of “Wut It Do”: “Wut It Do (Album Version),” which appears on the CD and digital version of Logos’ “Cold Mission” and “Wut It Do (12” Mix),” which appears on Mumdance and Logos’ “Genesis EP.”

Mumdance and Logos started working together in 2012 and have remained firm friends ever since. They have written a string of well received EPs and an LP together, curate a record label and events series called Different Circles and share a studio space.

They cite each other as a big influence for the progression of their respective sounds.
