Sleeve Notes

“Take Time” was the first track Mumdance and Novelist recorded together, signalling the start of a fruitful few years of recording and touring.

There are four different “Take Time” versions:

The original by Novelist, which was officially released by Rinse, then three alternate versions that were recorded as dubs for Mumdance’s DJ sets.

“Riko Time” is an alternate vocal by Riko Dan, which appears on Mumdance’s “FabricLive 80” Mix CD. “Riko Time” was notably premiered during Mumdance’s set on the 2014 “Boxed All Stars” Boiler Room.

“Riko Time (VIPinch Mix) “ is a Pinch remix of the "Take Time” instrumental, with Riko’s vocals on top.

"Take Time ft Sadat (Salam City Freestyle),” which features a vocal by Egyptian MC Sadat, recorded in Cairo as part of Cairo Calling, a cultural exchange project curated by the British Council. It did not receive a formal release outside of the “Cairo Calling Mixtape.”

You can watch Novelist and Mumdance perform a live version of "Take Time" in the "Resident Advisor Sessions" in the Notable Events section of this archive.
