The Sprawl is a collaboration between Mumdance, Logos and Shapednoise, named after “The Sprawl” trilogy of seminal cyberpunk books by William Gibson.
It was initially commissioned as a one-off performance, for the 2015 edition of CTM Festival in Berlin. However, after hearing the performance Conor Thomas from The Death of Rave label commissioned an EP, with the project growing from there.
There is also a track by Mumdance called “The Sprawl” on his 2013 “Take Time” EP, from which the name was lifted. You can hear a recording of The Sprawl’s debut CTM festival performance in the mix archive of this website.
