Mumdance - The Wash
“The Wash” appeared as a free download on Soundcloud in the build up to the release of Mumdance’s “Twists and Turns” mixtape, which was self-released in June 2013.
“Twists and Turns” was Mumdance’s return to music after a two-year hiatus. This mixtape signalled the start of his self proclaimed “second wave” of music, a darker sound primarily influenced by UK rave, techno, grime, shoegaze and musique concrète.
This was a departure from the more “day-glo” sounds of the first wave, which was epitomized by 2010’s “Different Circles - The Mixtape”
It also signalled the start of a fruitful production partnership between Mumdance and Logos
