Yuzo Koshiro x Mumdance - Actraiser Medley

“Mumdance x Yuzo Koshiro - Actraiser Medley” was initially created as part of the “Red Bull Music Academy presents 1UP: Cart Diggers Live” event at Womb in Tokyo.

Rustie was supposed to do the performance with Yuzo Koshiro, but cancelled at the last minute.

Mumdance, who was a participant of the 2014 Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo, was drafted in to replace Rustie the day before, alongside Branko and Dre Skull

He put the music and performance together in a day, then performed it the next evening.

Six years later, in 2020, the track was featured as a medley on “Teki & Nicks Mixtape Quest Adventure,” a mix of computer game soundtracks curated and mixed by Teki Latex and Nick Dwyer, renamed under the title “Actraiser Medley (Mumdance’s Medieval War In The 2014 Remix).”

The mixtape featured imagery of Mumdance portrayed as a six-eyed druid, referencing the press photo from his 2014 “Take Time” EP. 

Mumdance is a big fan of computer-game music. He owned an Amiga 500 when he was young, and tracks named after Amiga games are a running theme in his discography, with “Golden Axe,” “Shadow of The Beast,” “Turrican 2,” “Amiga 500” and “Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge” being other examples.
