Cairo Calling was a cultural exchange organised by The British Council, Rinse FM & 100 Copies. Taking place over two weeks, one in London and one in Cairo, artists from both countries were invited to work together and build creative bonds. It culminated in a performance and panel talk at the Barbican Centre in London.
Mumdance took part in the Cairo week, alongside Pinch and Faze Miyake, working with Cairo’s Islam Chipsy, Sadat, Dezel, Alaa Fifty, Figo and Kanaka.
Mumdance put together a Cairo Calling Mixtape at the end of the project which gathered all the work everyone had created together.
It was originally released as episode 205 of Dummy Magazine's ongoing mix series.
