Incubator was a project conceived by the British Council. 2010 was the second year it ran.
The aim was to connect contemporary UK musicians with a range of musicians from seven Latin American countries—Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba and Mexico—with the aim of fostering creative collaborations and a deeper appreciation and understanding in the UK of Latin America's musical culture.
The residency ran over ten days in Mexico City and saw Mumdance take part in a series of workshops and seminars, as well as spending time in the studio with Toy Selectah and a number of live musicians and percussionists, culminating in a performance at Circo Volador, a legendary CDMX venue.
In this time Mumdance & Toy Selectah recorded "Vampiro" and "Ani" which you can read more about in the discography section.
